On tonight’s episode of Coronation Street, Steve (Simon Gregson) was seen to feel sorry for his former lover.
Leanne (Jan Danson) looked depressed in Roy’s Rolls before he invited her over to number one for a glass of red wine.
After she accepted the invite, the pair reflected on their friendship, and Leanne couldn’t help but get emotional.
She previously became pregnant with his baby after a one-night stand, only for their child Oliver to pass away at the age of three-years old following a mitochondrial disease diagnosis.
Leanne claimed that Steve has been the only one who was truly there for her, as Steve admitted that he was glad she was with Oliver in his final hours.
He admitted: “I couldn’t think of a better person to have a child with. I’ve always been in awe of your strength, I still am.”
She then leant on his shoulder as he held her in a warm and emotional embrace on the long-running ITV soap.
“Don’t start because you will have me going, then I’ll lose my manly cool,” Steve added.
With fire in her eyes, Leanne remarked: “You’ll never lose that,” before she leaned in.
The pair kissed tenderly on the sofa before moving the action upstairs to Steve’s bedroom.

However, he was left unaware that Amy (Elle Mulvaney) was trying to reach him after running into the father of her rapist.
Aaron Sandford (James Craven) was celebrating his stag night at the same nightclub she was attending for a birthday party.
He was revealed to be engaged and set to welcome a baby with his new fiancée, leaving Amy shocked and traumatised.
Steve and Leanne’s liaison comes after Leanne’s surprise romp with hunky toyboy lover Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).
