Coronation Street’s Abi Webster will be met with suspicion in the big Platt family fire plot next week, as her behaviour raises concerns.
Corrie has now revealed a first look at the devastating blaze that will rage through the Platt house in next week’s scenes, after a hooded figure pushes a petrol-soaked rag through the letterbox.
With David Platt and Leanne Battersby already confirmed to be suspects, it has been revealed that Abi could also face accusations in the aftermath of the fire.
As the week begins, Toyah Habeeb comes across Harry Platt sitting in the Bistro office watching Hope Dobbs livestreaming a séance from No.8, alongside Lily Platt, Sam Blakeman and Ruby Dobbs.
An unimpressed Toyah bursts into the house and demands that the kids leave immediately.
Across the road, Jack Webster tells Abi what’s happening on the livestream and she takes the opportunity to head over there herself and confront Toyah for reporting her to social services over her son, Alfie.
When Toyah accidentally knocks over a bottle of red wine in the chaos, Abi is suddenly reminded of her deceased son Seb Franklin, and she starts having a panic attack as she imagines him covered in blood.
Toyah tries to help Abi through it but, in her confusion and distress, Abi hits Toyah.
Later on, after the fire begins to rage in the Platt house, Debbie Webster realises that she can’t find Abi anywhere and she tells Kevin about her suspicions.
Abi quickly collects her things from the house but, when she hears Kevin and Debbie arrive back, she sneaks out the back door.
When Kevin receives a call from Wendy telling him that Abi collected Alfie from her an hour ago and that she seemed to be on edge, Kevin’s worries grow.
He confides in Debbie that a jerry-can has gone missing from the garage, adding that he has checked the CCTV footage and spotted a hooded figure looking for one of the cans.
When the couple next see each other, Abi confesses that she has recently been suffering hallucinations and has been seeing Seb everywhere she looks.
But will Kevin believe that Abi didn’t start the fire, or will she continue to face suspicion from her husband?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, February 3, Tuesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 5.
