EastEnders has revealed a huge twist explaining Gina Knight’s whereabouts on Christmas Day, in the show’s latest episode.
When Cindy was left for dead in the Square last month, Gina returned home later that night, not revealing where she had been during her mum’s attack.
This week, Anna and Junior’s suspicions about their sister grew, and when they found out that it was Gina who threw the brick throw the window to threaten Cindy, Junior told the whole pub the truth.
In today’s episode, Cindy was devastated by her daughter’s actions, while Ian accused Gina of attacking her mum again.
The Beales and the Knights took their drama upstairs, where Gina explained that she just wanted to mess with Cindy’s head, but wasn’t responsible for anything else.
With Ian waiting for an alibi, George and Anna covered for Gina and said that she had a random one-night stand on Christmas Day.
George also defended Gina to Junior – but when they were alone, he demanded the truth from his daughter.
Gina told her dad that she knew he didn’t go to an illegal fight on the night of the attack, as she phoned the promoter to check. She was concerned that he was guilty, so wrote a note on the brick that would throw suspicion on the Fords, faces from Cindy’s past.
George then told Gina the truth about everything in a conversation which took place off screen, but Gina was shocked and said that his secret would tear their family apart. She was unable to return the favour and was too ashamed to admit who she was with that night.
Meanwhile, Freddie and Anna continued to grow closer as he comforted her in the Square, and the pair finally decided to give in to their feelings.
Gina called Cindy round to apologise for throwing the brick and tried to make it clear that she didn’t attack her, but Cindy wanted to go to the police.
With the walls closing in and with Gina missing an alibi, she revealed that she slept with Freddie on the night of the attack – but Anna overheard this shocking revelation.
How will the sisters deal with this betrayal?
