Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) is reminded of her past in Emmerdale soon when she comes across a vulnerable Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) forging a very dangerous plan.
Eric – who has Parkinson’s – has been spiralling ever since he accidentally lost all of partner Brenda Walker’s (Lesley Dunlop) savings.
He has attempted to get it back, but Eric slowly comes to accept soon that he’s going to need a miracle if he’s to get a large sum of cash back in a short space of time.
So he tries to create one.CORRIENEWS.INFO
When Kerry pops by the shop to check on Pollard, she finds material that can be used to start a fire.
Eric announces that he’s going to torch the shop, and then claim on the insurance.
‘She’s shocked and sad to see that he must be feeling really desperate’, star Laura Norton explained.
‘She gets very protective because she’s experienced something very similar. A series of bad choices led to an accident that was related to a fire. It’s haunted her ever since and she doesn’t want to find him in the same situation.’
The fire Laura is referring to happened in 2019 and led to the death of Frank Clayton.
Kerry and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) had broken into the Sharma & Sharma confectionary factory to try and delete CCTV footage after stealing fundraising money, and after fiddling with electrics the blaze broke out.
Frank had rushed into the building to save daughter Tracy (Amy Walsh), who was trapped in the store room and met his untimely demise in a huge explosion.
‘She’s never spoken to anybody about it’, Laura said.
‘It’s Kerry, Amy, Vanessa and Tracy that know. They made a decision to keep it contained. It’s hard holding onto a secret like that. The impact it had on so many people she cared about and the terrible, awful accident at the hands of some terrible decisions has haunted her.’
‘She’s riddled with guilt and regret. Kerry constantly makes bad decisions and then tries to move forward and better herself rather than make these silly choices that lead to terrible consequences.’ keep following corrienews.info
