Coronation Street‘s Shona Platt is targeted by criminals working for Harvey Gaskell next week.
The café worker finds herself in terrible danger as the Platt family continue to face the consequences over Harvey’s stolen cash.
David made a disastrous decision late last year when he stole dirty money that had been hidden away in a lock-up. The cash had originally been taken in a robbery organised by Harvey and his half-brother Damon Hay.
This week’s episodes see David realise his family are in danger as a strange man in the precinct hands Lily a note from Harvey, which mentions the stolen money.
David panics over Lily being identified so easily by Harvey’s associates – and things later get worse when the family’s pet dog is deliberately injured by the criminals.
In follow-on scenes next week, the drama continues as a man in a van secretly watches Shona as she leaves the house.
Before long, Shona is trapped in the van and it drives off at high speed. Her mobile phone is left behind in the gutter, stopping her from being able to contact anyone.
Shona tries her best to raise the alarm by banging on the van doors and shouting for help, but nobody comes to her rescue.
Later, David is alarmed when he realises that Shona didn’t turn up for work at the café.
Finally turning to his nemesis for help, David rushes to the police station and tells DC Kit Green about the threats the family has been receiving.
David darkly speculates that Harvey is to blame for Shona’s disappearance, but will Kit be able to help him?
While we can’t reveal what happens to Shona, subsequent scenes see David offer to move out of the Platt house to keep his family safe. David reasons that he’s more of a target, so Harvey will come after him.
He also confides in his brother Nick Tilsley, fretting that his family will remain in deep trouble unless he can somehow come up with the money for Harvey.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, January 27 on ITV1 and ITVX.
