Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) desperate and erratic behaviour sparks huge consequences for Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) in EastEnders this week.
Sonia is currently on trial after being wrongly accused of murdering fiancé Reiss’ comatose wife Debbie last year.
As fans of the BBC soap know, Reiss has been hiding the fact it was actually him who smothered Debbie to death in a bid to solve his money woes.
He has also been holding Sonia’s sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) hostage in a storage unit after she uncovered his killer secret back in November.
Reiss has been determined to get Sonia off the hook, but last week he was cautioned by the police after attempting to get the nurse giving evidence about Sonia’s late-night visit to Debbie to drop her testimony.
There was also a violent confrontation between Reiss and Bianca after her latest attempt to escape the lock-up failed.
His recklessness continues this week as he takes action after a deflated Sonia decides she is going to change her plea to guilty.
After another row with Bianca, Reiss is comforted by Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) and makes a huge decision as a result of her advice.
At the court, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Martin Fowler (James Bye) watch on as Sonia prepares to do what she believes is best for her unborn baby and change her plea.
But Reiss arrives at the eleventh hour and makes one last attempt to save Sonia from a life behind bars.
Has he done enough this time, or have his actions sealed his fiancé’s fate for good?
