Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly, who stars as Ruby Fox-Miligan, has been moved to tears after watching an emotional Chas Dingle scene.
Taking to Instagram, Cordingly shared her reaction to yesterday’s (January 16) episode of the soap, praising her co-star Lucy Pargeter after her character Chas defended Ruby.
“Adore this woman in real life because she is golden,” she wrote alongside a still from the episode.

In the caption, Cordingley said she was brought to tears on Ruby’s behalf after Chas worked out the truth behind who had abused Ruby as a teenager and fathered her child.
“Thirty years is a long time to hold that secret on your own,” she added.
The episode in question saw Chas discover the truth about Ruby’s past abuse at the hands of her father Anthony Fox.

Viewers already knew what Anthony had done following a recent flashback in which it was revealed that Anthony sexually abused Ruby as a teenager and is actually Steph’s biological father.
Ruby’s husband, and Chas’ half-brother Caleb, kicked Ruby out of their house after he found DNA evidence that confirmed he isn’t Steph’s biological father.
After assuming Ruby cheated on him 30 years ago, Caleb opened up to Chas who told him that Ruby hadn’t cheated on him and she had been raped as a teenager.
When Caleb wrongly assumed that Ruby’s friend Rob was the rapist a fight broke out between the two in which Rob mentioned how Ruby was scared of Anthony.
Coming to a horrifying realisation, Chas said to Caleb: “She wasn’t seeing anybody else. You and Rob were the only lads in her life, but I don’t think we’re looking for a lad.
“I think Anthony was abusing Ruby and I think he fathered Steph.”
Anthony will be killed off next week as part of the show’s new whodunit storyline after his evil crimes are exposed.
