SHOCKING NEWS!! Coronation Street revisits ‘forgotten’ Carla plot after nearly a year

Coronation Street has revisited Carla Connor’s tensions with Jenny and Daisy over her stolen money.

Carla summoned the pair to her hospital bedside in Friday’s episode to warn that it was time to pay up – or else.

In late 2023, Daisy secured access to killer Stephen Reid’s secret bank account. She then teamed up with Jenny to use the money to buy back the Rovers Return, rescuing the pub after it had been closed for several weeks.

The only problem was that Stephen had stolen the money from Carla in the first place, meaning that the cash should have gone straight back to her.

When Jenny eventually confessed everything to Carla in April last year, they struck a deal for the money to be paid back gradually without the police needing to be involved.

There have been few mentions of the story since then, but it seems that Carla’s patience is now at an end.

Friday’s episode saw Carla discover that she’d have to go private if she wanted her jailed brother Rob Donovan to be her kidney donor.

Due to the costs involved with keeping a prisoner in hospital, the transplant was likely to cost £100,000 in total.

With few options to raise the money quickly, Carla confronted Jenny and Daisy and informed them that it was time to either pay their debt in full or face the music with the police.

Carla warned: “I’m going to need the money that you two took from me back, ASAP. Time’s one thing I’ve not got, so I need it back now.”

When a panicking Jenny begged Carla to be reasonable, she replied: “I have been. You know what? I’ve been thinking of even getting myself a personal loan.

“And then I thought, why should I? Why would I put myself in debt when you two lying, thieving cows – no offence – still owe me?”

Carla urged Jenny to consider selling The Rovers if that’s what it takes, potentially leaving the pub facing an uncertain future again.

There was a ray of hope for Carla when Betsy Swain offered to lend her £50,000 – half of what she needed – from the money that her late mum Becky left her in her will. Will Jenny and Daisy be able to come up with the rest of the cash?
