Coronation Street‘s Carla Connor has made her decision about Rob Donovan’s kidney offer.

The Underworld boss has been in hospital for several weeks after contracting sepsis that spread to and damaged her kidney, leaving her in need of a kidney transplant.

Returning character Rob Donovan, Carla’s estranged brother, has offered her a kidney after son Bobby visited him in prison and asked him to help. But will Carla accept?

In the hospital, Carla told Bobby she knew her brother well and doesn’t believe Rob has found religion. Bobby was adamant his dad has changed and convinced her to go and see it for herself, with Carla running out of options.

Sure enough, a sick Carla left hospital and came face to face with Rob in the prison visiting room. “I want to help you Carla, I want to help you live,” he told his sister.

Despite his offer, Carla responded that she doesn’t trust him and thinks “he’s up to something”.

Rob went on to apologise for being a terrible brother and talked about wanting to “make up for that”, before opening up about his experience of finding god after being in a dark place.

Carla wasn’t sure he won’t “screw her over again” but Rob insisted: “I’m on a different path, and all I’m asking for is a chance to prove it.”

Despite his “nice speech”, Carla said her answer is still no and she got up to leave, before Rob tried one last tempt to persuade her.

“I’m not just doing it for you, I’m doing it for Bobby too,” he admitted. “If you don’t take this kidney you will die and what’s going to happen to him then. I can’t take care of him, the lad depends on you Carla. If you won’t do this for yourself then please, do it for him.”

Back at the hospital, Carla told Lisa and Bobby she still “doesn’t buy” Rob’s act, but said if he’s really serious about giving her a kidney then she won’t stop him from doing the test to see if he’s compatible.

Lisa and Bobby were overjoyed, but Carla’s right not to fully trust her brother. This week, viewers saw Rob set up a prison hostage situation with Bobby before ‘saving him’ from fellow inmate Matty Radcliffe.

It’s clear that Rob wants to get in Bobby’s good books but what’s his real intentions with Carla?
