It’s been eight years since EastEnders fans last saw Pat Butcher on screen, but actress Pam St Clement still looked every inch the soap icon after being spotted out and about recently.
One fan was delighted when they saw the actress, 82, loading up her car after a shopping trip.
They posted a video of the star on TikTok with the caption “Queen Pat x.’
Many fans commented on the clip, calling her an ‘icon’ and a ‘living legend’, with one adding: ‘The queen isn’t aging!!!’
Pam has largely kept out of the limelight since leaving EastEnders back in 2012, when her character was killed off.
However, the beloved Pat made one last appearance in 2016 as a vision during Peggy Mitchell’s (Barbara Windsor) final scenes.
Pam portrayed the soap matriarch for 26 years after making her debut in 1986.
The arrival of Frank Butcher (Mike Reid) in 1987 led to the duo getting married and taking over the tenancy of The Queen Vic.
Pat’s final storyline saw her die from pancreatic cancer, shortly after she was reunited with son David Wicks (Michael French).
Speaking about her final scenes, Pam said previously: ‘I read the script and I thought, “Oh, this is fantastic – it’s every actor’s dream”.
‘And I have to say, it also challenged me in a way that I hadn’t been challenged. It was moving, it was challenging and it was a script that I needed to get my teeth into.’
‘The script, the performances, the direction – it all turned out to be a fantastic ensemble piece, if you like… Everybody was pulling in, everybody was doing the most wonderful performances and it was fantastic.’
