Coronation Street has revealed the outcome of Leanne Battersby’s fraud case.
Leanne has had a difficult few weeks, after she unsuccessfully tried to frame her sister Toyah for fraud only to have the tables turned on her.
After discovering that Toyah and Nick were still in a secret relationship, Leanne set about trying to frame her sister by opening a fake bank account in her name and transferring money from the Bistro business funds into it.
However, Toyah soon sussed her sister out, and Leanne ended up being the one charged with fraud.
In scenes to air next Friday (January 24) Leanne’s day in court has come, but she’s far from prepared.
After leaping out of bed for her court appearance, Leanne walked out on the street only for Debbie to drive through a huge puddle and soak her.
A very wet Leanne is then spotted by Nick and Toyah with the latter insisting on giving her sister a lift to court.
In court, Leanne receives a community order, and as she walks out, she tells Toyah she wants nothing more to do with her.
Later, Tracy points out to Leanne that Toyah not only stole her man, but her flat with all her things in it, too. What will Leanne do?
While things between the Battersby sisters may seem broken beyond repair, Georgia Taylor – who plays Toyah – is still optimistic about their future.
“They have been through so much but this is next level, and the way things are going, it’s going to take a very long time but I really do hope they can come back together,” Georgia said last month.
“Things are definitely not great in the Battersby camp, but I think that ultimately there’s just too much history there to not have them back together.”
