SHOCKING NEWS!! Ian vows he would have killed Cindy as EastEnders legend is arrested

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) made a strong vow to disgraced fiancée Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) on Monday’s EastEnders as she started to piece together the night of her attack.

The Walford icon had been in a coma since she was assaulted on Christmas night, after the truth about her affair with former stepson Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) was revealed to both of their families thanks to a recording planted by Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa).

Cindy finally woke from her coma on Thursday and uttered Ian’s name, suggesting he was somehow involved in her attack.

However, when police arrived to question her on Monday, she told officers she didn’t remember anything about being hit across the head and left for dead in the snow.

She then summoned Ian to the hospital to see her, where a vicious confrontation ensued.

Cindy realised Ian had lied to the police about the events of Christmas night, failing to mention the argument they’d had at No.45 before he threw her out on the street.

Ian was unperturbed, however, as he reminded Cindy how she’d hired a hitman to kill him after she last cheated on him back in the 1990s.

He then remarked that if he had been the one to attack her, he would have finished the job, leaving her stunned.

As Ian left her hospital room, Cindy then received a visit from son Peter (Thomas Law) and his girlfriend Lauren, and it became clear there was still residual hatred between the two women, who’d been blackmailing each other last year.

Cindy quizzed Lauren on her whereabouts at the time of the attack, to which Lauren deflected, pointing out she should tell the police that Ian had lied about his statement.

This seemed to give cunning Cindy an idea, and later that evening, police officers arrived at The Vic to make an arrest.

To everyone’s surprise, Lauren was handcuffed and led away as a vengeful Cindy framed her rival for her attack.

Will Lauren be able to prove her innocence, or has she actually got something to hide?
