Coronation Street fan favourite writer Jonathan Harvey has confirmed
his return to the ITV soap after his break.
Harvey, who has penned over 330 episodes of Corrie over a period of 20 years, announced in October that he had written his last episode, but stated that he was planning to return.
In a post on social media this week, Harvey shared a photo of himself with some of his closest friends from the show, and revealed that he’ll be once again penning scripts very soon.
“Ah this popped up in my memories today,” he wrote. “Me and my Corrie mates. I start back writing on the show this month!”
“I (heart) you, this pic and that night,” wrote Maria Connor actor Samia Longchambon. In response, Harvey joked: “See you in a bit. Can you put the loo seat up please thanks bye x”
“I’ll [sic] be lovely to have you back!!” commented Billy Mayhew actor Daniel Brocklebank.
When he previously explained his decision to temporarily step back from the soap, Harvey said: “I felt after twenty years it was time for a break. I honestly only thought I’d stay for a year or two, but I blinked my eyes and twenty years had passed.
