General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that the Monday, Decemer 23 episode brought plenty of drama, heartwarming moments, and also a major stunner!

The news hit earlier in the day that Braedyn Bruner was the big “surprise” Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) had in store for the Scorpio family, as the actress stepped into the role of legacy character Emma Drake, the daughter of Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) and Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson).

Emma had an explosive return, sharing some scenes with Gio Palmieri (Gio Mazza) and a sweet reunion with loved ones, so it’ll be interesting to see the impact she makes in the land of Port Charles. Still, many GH viewers did wonder why the show chose a recast, instead of going with the actress that “made” Emma – one that literally grew up in the role: Brooklyn Rae Silzer.

In the evening of December 23, Silzer hopped on social media to comment on the Emma recast decision.

General Hospital – Alum Brooklyn Rae Silzer – “I Am Forever Grateful”

Silzer hopped on X and tweeted a note. The caption read, “A little note to my @GeneralHospital family and fans who have loved me over the years (heart emoji) B xoxo.”

The note was addressed to her ‘amazing’ GH family who supported and watched her grow over the years as Emma. She adds she is ‘forever grateful’.

The note goes on to say, that, “Although sad my time as Emma has come to an end, I will cherish all of my memories and friendships made.

She states, “I’m so lucky to have been cast as Emma 13 years ago and to have the opportunity to grow her character over the years.”

The note continues with, “I’m so excited to see how Brayden takes care of Emma and brings new layers to her character.”

Brooklyn closes with, “I am forever thankful for General Hospital and Emma and will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Brooklyn entered Port Charles in 2011 at age 5 and exited in 2018; however, Emma has returned here and there over the years for short stints. The last time she was seen on canvas was in 2023.
