Christmas Day is never a peaceful time in Walford and this year is set to be no different in EastEnders, as a huge secret explodes in today’s
two unmissable episodes.
The reveal of Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Junior Knight’s (Micah Balfour) affair will take centre stage in tonight’s double-helping of
Walford action, as the shocking truth sends a wrecking ball into festivities.
Evidence of their scandalous affair was captured earlier this year, as Cindy revealed all to her former flame David Wicks (Michael French), not realising Freddie Slater’s (Bobby Brazier) dicatphone was running in the background.
Not only that, she also confessed to David her love for Junior’s dad and her ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon), who recently married Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
After the recording fell into the wrong hands last week, Cindy’s admissions set to be played for all to hear in true Sharongate fashion later today.
She soon realises that she has nowhere to hide as all hell breaks loose in the Beale and Knight families, with fury and accusations flying on all sides.
‘You’ll certainly be on the edge of your seats,’ says Michelle Collins, who plays Cindy.
‘I think the episode this year is a real EastEnders classic, so I’m really excited to be a part of it.
‘I would say it’s dramatic, powerful and moving,’ she adds.
Over at the Slaters, Stacey (Lacey Turner) is plucking up the courage to tell ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) how she feels about him after a surprise kiss last week stirred up some old feelings.
She’s full of Christmas spirit, and armed with a whole heap of Slater advice, but she’s put out when Martin’s other ex-wife Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) arrives to spend Christmas with them – will she chicken out of speaking to him?
‘I’d love to see them together forever, but who knows,’ Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey, says.
‘It always seems to go a bit pear-shaped when they are together, so maybe they’re like Ross and Rachel [from Friends].’
Elsewhere, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is buoyed when she receives an unexpected Christmas visit from Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
But when she later spends time with ex-husband Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), it’s clear she has feelings for both Jack and Ravi and vice versa.
Meanwhile, Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) isolation continues to concern Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who notices he’s not himself when she visits him with a gift from son Albie.
As they later spend the day together over at No.1 with the rest of the Mitchell clan, Phil sinks further into himself as watching Sharon’s new relationship with Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) becomes to much to bear…
