Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has explained her character Toyah Habeeb’s unexpected reaction to her sister Leanne’s revenge.
Toyah is about to face the Christmas from hell, as she’s arrested on suspicion of fraud after being framed by Leanne.
Leanne is plotting and scheming after discovering that Toyah and Nick Tilsley are still in a secret relationship.
She recently opened a fake bank account in Toyah’s name and started transferring in money from the Bistro business funds.
After Toyah and Nick both face trouble with the police over the festive season, they slowly realise that Leanne is the source of their problems.
However, when it seems that the tables could turn on Leanne and she’ll face potential fraud charges herself, a horrified Toyah begs Nick to get Leanne off the hook with the police.
Discussing Toyah’s sympathy for Leanne, Georgia explained: “It’s interesting because Toyah and Nick have two quite different responses to this.
“Toyah feels great compassion for Leanne and because she does have quite a forgiving nature, she wants to do anything to stop her sister from getting into more trouble and causing her more pain.
“Whereas Nick has had enough. This is the straw that broke the camel’s back for him. He’s quite determined to take Leanne down, which I think is going to cause a bit of conflict between Nick and Leanne.”

Discussing Toyah and Leanne’s future as sisters, Georgia continued: “They have been through so much but this is next level, and the way things are going, it’s going to take a very long time but I really do hope they can come back together.
“Things are definitely not great in the Battersby camp, but I think that ultimately there’s just too much history there to not have them back together.”
Georgia also expressed uncertainty over whether Toyah and Nick’s relationship can survive the chaos caused by Leanne.
She said: “I don’t know, this is her sister’s ex. Maybe in the future if Leanne moves on with somebody else and is able to be happy with a new partner.”
