Chad and the Deverauxs find a new way to properly honor Abigail.
Since ending his romance with Stephanie, Chad has had one woman on his mind: Abigail. He knew he
had to finally grieve his late wife fully. Unfortunately, his feelings for Abigail flared and flourished when
he found her alive. Of course, that was Cat Greene posing and pretending to save her mother’s life from Clyde. Her Fake Abigail act was eventually discovered, leaving him with all the feelings and no real Abigail to share them with. He couldn’t even gain proper closure because her remains were nowhere to be found. In the Wednesday, December 18 episode of Days of Our Lives, Jennifer figured out how to get some much-needed closure.
New Time Capsule Purpose
Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) asked Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), Hope (Kristian Alfonso), and Marie (Maree Cheatham) for approval, and she got it. The Deverauxs would repurpose the time capsule that held some of the Horton family’s most precious memories, keepsakes, and the priceless diamond necklace that is currently “missing.”
Jennifer, Jack (Matthew Ashford), Chad (Billy Flynn), and JJ (Casey Moss) contributed something special to the time capsule. The family placed photos, drawings, Chad’s wedding band, a lock of hair from her first haircut, and a clipping of one of her articles in the capsule. Later, they gathered at Abigail’s grave, where the capsule would find a new home.
Repurposing the time capsule is a nice way for the family to honor Abigail (formerly Marci Miller). Hopefully, it’ll give Chad the closure he needs to move on properly—at least until the real Abigail suddenly shows up in Salem alive and well…someday. Of course, that might not happen for a long time.

The Cat Greene Factor
Until then, Chad will continue to raise his kids. And there’s a good chance he will continue connecting with Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) now that she’s free and clear and not pretending to be anybody else.
Right now, she seems to want to focus on her family. Thanks to Tate (Leo Howard), Belle (Martha Madison) became Mark’s (Jonah Robinson) lawyer and got him a sweet deal: He would only have to serve 18 months in prison. So, Cat will have to act as guardian for Aaron (Louis Tomeo) and Felicity (Kennedy Garcia) for the foreseeable future.
However, that doesn’t mean Cat and Chad have gone their separate ways. They may gravitate back to each other. Even becoming friends will undoubtedly cause a mountain of friction between Chad and Jack, Jennifer, and JJ. And it’s in a soap’s DNA to cause the maximum amount of drama. And a Chad/Cat pairing will absolutely do that.
