EastEnders has teased trouble for Kat Slater and Alfie Moon early next year, amid potential marriage hopes.

The iconic soap couple finally reunited last month, after growing closer again during their family struggles this year.

Their son Tommy became abusive towards Kat, as well as the twins, and the situation escalated when Jean contacted social services.

Tommy was taken out of the house and Zack offered to temporarily take him in next door, but Kat was bereft that she wasn’t able to see her son.

In November, Alfie managed to make progress during a supervised meeting with Tommy, and he was later surprised when grateful Kat kissed him back at home.

They were both confused about what to do, but while they tried to suggest they were better off as friends, it became clear that the spark was still there and they decided to give their relationship another go.

Kat and Alfie quickly professed their love for one another and are now a solid couple on the Square once again – with Kat making sure to defend her partner against a drunk Linda last week.

While they previously said they wanted to try and get Tommy home for Christmas, it isn’t yet known whether or not this will happen, with Kat still upset about the situation.

As New Year approaches, the focus in Walford is celebrating Suki and Eve’s upcoming wedding – with Kat pictured attending their joint hen do at Harry’s Barn.

Actor Balvinder Sopal has teased that Suki and Eve’s nuptials are set to bring some “high-intensity drama”, with Nish lurking in the shadows threatening to ruin everything.

But with wedding bells ringing on New Year’s Day, love is in the air and it leads Freddie to suggest that Kat and Alfie should think about getting married again.

This isn’t an unfamiliar concept to the pair, as Kat and Alfie have been married twice already, with their first wedding taking place back in 2003.

However, Freddie unknowingly stirs up trouble with his cheeky suggestion. Could it be third time lucky for Kat and Alfie, or is there more drama ahead?
