It’s hard to believe that it’s been well over a year since we last saw Joyce Guy’s Phyllis on General Hospital. In fact, it was in March 2023 when Phyllis turned

up on Nina’s doorstep for a visit. Viewers may recall, it was during the time when Willow was fighting for her life and Obrecht turned out to be a match as a

donor. Phyllis gave her friend some sound advice and urged her to continue to respect Willow’s wishes with the hope that her daughter would come around

someday and open up to her more. But that wasn’t all that was going on in Nina’s life…

Phyllis noticed how troubled Nina looked and learned that while she thought she could separate herself from Sonny’s life, she had been having a hard time doing so. Again, Phyllis suggested she do some soul searching and asked her herself if a relationship with Sonny was one she could continue.

Phyllis has been a lovely presence in Port Charles and fans have been wondering why the ABC soap hadn’t mentioned her in ages. Well, in the December 9th episode, we all finally received an explanation as to where she has been… She’s back in Nixon Falls, which means Guy has exited the show. Sonny had mentioned to Kristina that since Phyllis returned to her hometown, he needed someone to run Charlie’s Pub. And in turn, he offered to make Kristina the owner as a way to give his daughter a new beginning and distract her from all that has happened with Ava, Molly and the baby.

Though we wish Phyllis could have been given a proper goodbye, we have hope that one day we’ll see her back in Port Charles again.
