Coronation Street‘s Mason Radcliffe becomes an unlikely ally for DS Lisa Swain in the New Year.
Mason agrees to help Lisa after she raises her suspicions that his brothers Matty and Logan were involved in the death of her wife Becky.
Viewers know that Becky, who was also a detective sergeant, died in the line of duty when she was hit by a car.
When Matty recently clashed with Lisa at the police station, he made a pointed comment which hinted that he knew something about Becky’s demise.
Scenes airing in early January see Lisa step up her search for answers as she confronts Matty at the precinct.

Lisa gets tough with Matty, ordering him to tell her about his whereabouts on the night that Becky was killed.
Her colleague DC Kit Green quickly disrupts this off-the-books investigation, warning her to leave Matty alone.
Changing tactics, Lisa approaches Mason and hands over some photos taken from the crime scene when Becky died.
Lisa insists that Matty and Logan were driving the car that killed Becky. She watches Mason’s reaction and notes that he’s genuinely shocked.
Deciding to help, despite the potential danger to himself, Mason asks Dylan Wilson to act as a lookout and secretly searches Matty and Logan’s flat.
Later, the teens arrive at the police station and hand Lisa a WWII helmet that Mason found at the flat.
Could it be the key piece of evidence that links Matty and Logan to the scene of the crime? And how will the thugs respond if they find out what Mason has done?
