EastEnders has shared full details of the upcoming dramatic Christmas scenes involving the reveal of Cindy Beale’s secrets.
Cindy is currently trying to keep her affair with Junior Knight under wraps, especially as their secret romance restarted again in recent weeks.
Kojo became aware of the affair last month, but after he ended up in hospital, Cindy made a stern threat and persuaded him to keep quiet. Lauren is also suspicious about Kojo’s fall, but Cindy
found out about her painkiller addiction and used this information as leverage.
But Cindy isn’t aware that a private conversation she had with David Wicks in October, where she spoke about her affair as well as her love for her ex-husband George, was in fact recorded by Freddie’s birdwatching microphone.
Freddie is currently flogging CDs of his bird sounds, with more volumes to come, and later this month Cindy will discover that an incriminating recording which exposes her affair has fallen into the wrong hands.
At the hands of a mysterious blackmailer, Cindy continues to try to keep her actions hidden, but has she done enough to make them change their mind?
Meanwhile, Peter and Lauren continue to argue about recent events. Before the Beales sit down for a family meal, Ian tries to talk to Cindy about Lauren.
George decides that he wants all of his family together on Christmas Day, so on Christmas Eve he invites Cindy and the Beales to join the Knights for dinner at The Vic.
Cindy is scared for her future, so she hatches a new plan that leaves her family shocked. But the situation then escalates, as she receives another piece of damning information.
The stage is set for a classic showdown around the dinner table, and on Christmas Day Cindy’s luck runs out – with her secrets and lies revealed in spectacular fashion in The Vic.
As the shocking truth about Cindy is exposed, in a special double episode, all hell breaks loose between the Beale and Knight families.
With accusations flying from both sides following the huge revelations, what will this Christmas drama mean for Cindy and those around her?
These scenes will air the week beginning Monday, December 23 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
