Coronation Street‘s Adam Barlow could face the wrath of David Platt in upcoming scenes.

Adam finds himself under suspicion as David remains uneasy over what happened during his wife Shona’s recent mysterious night away.

The ITV soap has just revealed that Shona has cheated on David by sleeping with local policeman Kit Green.

Adam is reluctantly helping Shona to cover up her secret, without knowing the identity of the mystery man in question, although he has warned her that it’s bound to be exposed eventually.

In scenes airing later this month, Adam and Shona briefly meet up to discuss the situation again.

As they chat discreetly, they’re unaware that David and Audrey Roberts are watching nearby.

David notes that his wife is deep in conversation with Adam – and he’s forced to once again consider his original theory that they’ve betrayed him.

Later, David tests Shona by casually quizzing her about her afternoon.

When Shona fails to mention Adam, it leaves David more convinced than ever that something is going on behind his back. Will he take action?

Coronation Street‘s new producer Kate Brooks recently hinted that Shona’s big secret will be exposed on Christmas Day.

Brooks said: “The Platts are at the heart of Christmas. You’ve got David and Shona – and David has made massive mistakes in hiding visiting orders from Clayton.

“This goes on to have massive consequences and Shona hits that self-destruct button in the build-up to Christmas and makes some really terrible judgement calls.”

She added: “What is important for me about David and Shona is that they can both really mess up, but that love that they have is so strong.

“But can they overcome that? I don’t know. But all those secrets come to the forefront on Christmas Day.”
