Coronation Street has confirmed the identity of Shona Platt’s mystery man.
The ITV soap had been teasing that Shona would cheat on her husband David this month – and the full
story has finally become clear.
Friday’s episode saw Shona return home to the cobbles after spending a mysterious night away from David.
Shona turned against David this week after discovering that he’d blocked her access to her jailed son Clayton Hibbs by deleting emails and visiting him in prison to warn him off.
When Clayton tried to take his own life and Shona wondered why she hadn’t been told about his struggles, David continued to deceive her until finally being caught out this week.
The latest visit to Weatherfield saw the Platts’ dynamic change as it seemed that Shona was now the one with something to hide.
At the café, Shona confided in her boss Roy Cropper that she’d done something she deeply regretted. She also took the morning-after pill following her night away from home.

As suspicion grew over where Shona had been the night before, she told David that Adam Barlow had taken her back to his flat to recover after finding her drunk.
Shona confirmed that she slept in Adam’s bed, but he stayed on the couch. Although initially angry, David was soon satisfied that nothing had happened between them.
In a private chat, however, it was revealed that Adam was covering for Shona by concealing a crucial part of the story. By the time Adam had crossed paths with Shona, she’d already cheated on David with a mystery man.
As Shona thanked Adam for keeping quiet, he replied: “About what? I don’t know what you did. Scratch that – I don’t know who you did. It’s about the only thing you didn’t tell me last night, Shona.
“From my – unfortunately comprehensive – experience, these kinds of secrets always come out.”
On her way out of The Rovers, Shona crossed paths with Kit Green, and the secret
was revealed to viewers.
Kit smugly asked Shona whether they should chat about the previous night, but she begged him to keep quiet and pretend it had never happened.
With a chaotic Christmas ahead for the Platts, is it only a matter of time before David discovers that Shona cheated on him with Kit?
