Coronation Street‘s Leanne Battersby has kicked off her revenge plan against her sister Toyah and her ex-partner Nick
Tilsley.
In tonight’s (December 4) episode, Leanne continued harbouring suspicions that Toyah and Nick had rekindled their
affair now they were both single.
In previous episodes, the two had resumed their romance but agreed to keep it a secret from Leanne to spare her more heartbreak.
New scenes saw Toyah got jealous of Nick comforting Leanne at Les’ will reading, with her voicing her frustrations to him. Nick insisted they should still try and go on holiday together but “be smart about it” so that Leanne wouldn’t suspect them.
Little did they know that Leanne was already keeping a close eye on them. Her doubts only got stronger when she realised that the dates for Nick’s holiday aligned with those booked off by Toyah.
In a bid to make her ex and her sister pay, a furious Leanne set out to frame Toyah in a fraud scheme.
She replaced Toyah’s passport and opened an email confirming she had set up a new bank account in her sister’s name with Miller & Wise Bank.
Then, Leanne surreptitiously transferred £1,700 from the bistro business account into Toyah’s new account.
Last month, Corrie‘s new producer Kate Brooks teased that Leanne’s plotting will reach its peak at Christmas.
“Leanne has had a very tough year. She’s had The Institute, which was all-consuming in many ways, but she’s a Battersby and she’s scrappy and she’s feisty. Toyah is so good and so brilliant and wonderful, and Leanne sees the life that she had just being taken away from her,” Brooks said.
“Rather than go down the route which is expected, of her taking it on the chin or moving on, Leanne really wants to make them pay and she is really intent on getting her own revenge.
