One of Coronation Street‘s recent mysteries surrounding Joel Deering’s death has been explained at last.
Fans of the ITV soap have been losing sleep over one detail in Joel’s murder. We know that the villain was
killed on September 27, with his body later found in a river.
Some viewers were convinced that Joel was wrapped in a body bag when he was found, but it turned out to be just “a trick of the light”, as This Morning resident ‘Queen of Soaps’ Sharon Marshall clarified.
“Ok., to answer this one.., Joel was not in a body bag!” Sharon posted on Twitter/X, including a picture of the frame in question.
“He was face down, his jacket wet and it was a trick of the light that a rock looked like his head… Joel IS dead. There is no extra twist coming x,” she added.
Some fans were relieved to have an expert opinion on the matter, with one person noting: “Thank you Sharon, this has been bugging me for ages. I can sleep at night now.”
“Ah thanks Sharon – I always spotted the rock but the bit that must have been his jacket is what made me think body bag. At least we know now! x,” another fan commented.
The truth about Joel’s murder was revealed last week. In a flashback, viewers learned that Lauren Bolton had killed the villain with a rock after he tried to strangle her boyfriend Max Turner, with Max landing in jail after taking the fall.
However, Lauren had second thoughts as she was worried about Max’s wellbeing in prison. The teen then tipped off Shona Platt, who immediately went to David.
Once the police were alerted, Lauren was brought in for questioning and told DC Kit Green she was responsible for delivering the fatal blow to Joel.
