Coronation Street‘s Chesney Brown is set to make an enemy in upcoming scenes.
In episodes airing on ITV next week, a van driver steals Chesney’s parking space as he pulls into the
Freshco car park. Furious, Chesney blocks the van, gets out of his car and heads off.
Later in the week, a downbeat Chesney surveys the damage to his car after his risky plan went wrong and
the van driver took revenge.
A van suddenly screeches past, almost knocking him off his feet. Chesney is shocked to discover that it’s the same van from the car park.
Will this angry driver return, and has Chesney made his already-stretched finances worse having to pay repairs for more damage to his car?
Elsewhere on the cobbles next week, Leanne’s dad and Chesney’s stepdad Les Battersby suddenly dies while he’s at work.
The character, who was played by Bruce Jones between 1997 and 2007, will be killed off-screen.
As Nick prepares to finally tell Leanne the truth about his relationship with Toyah, a police officer arrives at the flat to break the sad news that Les died. Leanne rushes out to meet Toyah and the sisters are united in their grief for Les, but it soon becomes clear that Toyah already knew.
Toyah is forced to reveal that Nick called to tell her about Les before Leanne showed up, but Leanne is confused and wants to know why. When Toyah’s excuse doesn’t add up, a suspicious Leanne goes into Nick’s laptop, brings up the details of his Tenerife booking and calls the hotel. What will she discover?
