Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is forced to pick sides in EastEnders this week – when her former bestie Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) returns with big news for Martin Fowler
(James Bye).
Things are undoubtedly bound to be sour between the trio, given three years ago, Ruby was sent to prison when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) framed her for growing a
cannabis farm.
Jean’s actions were as a result of her previously lying in a bid to falsely imprison Stacey.
Upon her exit, Ruby was adamant that she was pregnant with ex-husband Martin’s baby, though he didn’t believe her.
In upcoming scenes, his world comes crashing down around him when he learns that she was indeed telling the truth!
It’s Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) who has sat on the news since September, when she was shacked up in jail with her former step-mum Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman), who revealed that she had briefly shared a cell with Ruby.
When she asked about her whereabouts, Chrissie revealed she’d been moved to give birth.
Martin certainly has bigger fish to fry at the moment – or at least he thinks – as the Bridge Street Market is under threat of closure and the Square Gardens could be redeveloped into parking.
After building up to courage to come clean, Sharon tells him what she heard but believes it’s just another example of Chrissie’s meddling.
However, when she produces the child’s birth certificate, the horror sets in.
Just as Martin begins to process the news, Ruby bursts through the door and accuses him of stealing from her.
She admits the truth, and after a huge row with Stacey, she drops another bombshell.
Before long, battle lines are drawn whilst Martin seeks out more answers. Luckily for him, Stacey has agreed to take his side and show her support.
Will Martin get access to his estranged child?
