Kelly Monaco was unexpectedly fired from General Hospital in August. Her fans pulled
out all the stops to convince the show to change course and keep the actress. The pleas
failed but Kelly Monaco had a special message for those who supported her. Keep

What Will Happen To Sam McCall?
Kelly Monaco joined GH in 2003, just months after the Port Charles spinoff was canceled. The actress played the popular character Livvie Locke on the spinoff and reportedly had offers from several soaps. She chose General Hospital in a role that was created just for her. Her first airdate as Sam McCall was on October 1, 2003.

She filmed her final scene on the soap opera just days before the twenty-first anniversary of her original airdate. News broke in August that Kelly Monaco had been fired from GH. The news stunned fans. Exactly how Kelly/Sam’s exit is being kept under wraps. However, she was recently confirmed as match for a liver donation to Lulu Spencer.
The theory is that Sam somehow dies during or after the operation that will save Lulu’s life. Alexa Havins will make her debut as a recast Lulu sometime this fall.
How The Show Could Still Change Course
Kelly Monaco’s devoted fanbase refuse to go down without a fight. They started a petition that garnered 17k signatures and counting. The ‘I Stand With Kelly’ movement paid for a billboard in Times Square and has a truck driving around the GH studios in Los Angeles.
The actress already filmed her final scene, but the campaign created an alternate storyline if the show decides to bring her back. In a trailer posted to Twitter, Dante and Danny discover that Sam is actually alive and being held hostage.
Kelly Monaco Sends Love To Fans Ahead Of GH Exit
Kelly Monaco is seemingly still reeling from GH firing her. She has shared small statements but isn’t ready to publicly address her firing just yet. She did promise fans, however, that she would tell the real story someday.
But she did break her social media silence to thank the fans from the I Stand With Kelly campaign for their efforts.
“Thank you, y’all are the best, most loyal people ever!!!! It doesn’t go unnoticed… at least by me… BRAVO!”
