CARLA Connor could finally make a move on potential love interesy Lisa Swain in
upcoming Corrie scenes.
Viewershave picked up on tension between the pair – dubbed “Swarla” – as they’ve
grown closer on-screen.
In scenes yet to air, Carla finds Lisa drowning her sorrows in the pub after a major lapse in memory.
The policewoman forgot late partner Becky’s birthday, making her feel terrible.
Later on, Lisa wakes up on Carla’s sofa, although she now has a hangover.
In the meantime, Carla admits to Ryan (Ryan Prescott) that she has feelings for Lisa but is out of her depth, although he urges her to go for it.
Returning home, Carla finds Lisa getting dressed – but will she make her move?
If the romance happens, it would major new territory for Corrie legend Carla.
Since debuting in 2006, the character has solely been in heterosexual relationships.
This includes ex-husbands Paul Connor (Sean Gallagher), Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
Viewers previously fumed with show bosses as they claimed Carla and Lisa’s romance was “ruined”.
In scenes earlier this year, Lisa comforted Carla after Joel Deering (Calum Lill) threatened her in Underworld.

Placing a reassuring hand on her below, Lisa’s teenage daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) then arrived – and didn’t like what she saw.
After Betsy ran off, her mother later found her and explained: “I had my hand on Carla’s arm, it was a comforting hand! Carla’s straight!”
However, the younger Swain replied: “Yeah, and so is spaghetti until you boil it!”
The beloved British soap has been captivating audiences for decades.
