The beginning of the end of Yellowstone has arrived with the premiere of season 5, part 2 in the
fall of 2024. After almost two years of waiting for season 5’s second half (the Yellowstone season 5, part
1 finale aired on January 1, 2023), its first episode has arrived. Unfortunately, its cast will be one person
short, but the Paramount Network neo-Western drama TV series is set to end with a bang as the Dutton family’s story comes to a close (for now). Rumors state that Paramount is eyeing a renewal for Yellowstone, but season 6 has not been confirmed as of the writing of this article.
As mentioned above, the cast of Yellowstone season 5, part 2 does not feature one prominent star — Kevin Costner. Costner reportedly left Yellowstone a few months following the season 5, part 1 finale because of scheduling conflicts, creative differences, contract disputes, and more. So, Costner’s character, John Dutton III, will not be around to close out the Taylor Sheridan series. Other figures, like Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton, Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler, Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton, Wes Bentley’s Jamie Dutton, Kelsey Asbille’s Monica Long Dutton, and Gil Birmingham’s Thomas Rainwater will appear in the episodes to give the characters closure.
Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 9 Will Release On November 10, 8 pm ET On Paramount Network
The Premiere Will Also Air On CBS
Six hundred and eighty days following the airing of Yellowstone season 5, episode 8, “A Knife and No Coin,” Taylor Sheridan’s TV show returns with season 5, episode 9, “Desire Is All You Need,” on Sunday, November 10, 2024. The season 5, part 2 premiere will drop at 8 pm ET on the Paramount Network on November 10. However, the good news is that “Desire Is All You Need” will be available to watch at different times on that Sunday and will be available to stream on services such as Philo, fuboTV, Sling, and Hulu Live TV (per Syracuse.com).
Following the release of Yellowstone season 5, part 2 on November 10 at 8 pm on the Paramount Network, CBS will air the episode at 10 pm ET on the same day (according to USA Today). It’s unclear if CBS will continue airing new episodes of Yellowstone two hours after they debut on the Paramount Network or if the premiere is just a special occasion. Whatever the case, Paramount is seemingly trying to make it easier for fans to watch the neo-Western drama. Yellowstone season 5, part 2’s streaming date is unknown, though. It’ll likely come to Peacock sometime after the finale.
Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 Will Continue To Air On Sundays Until Its Finale
Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 Has 6 Episodes
The good news is that Yellowstone season 5, part 2 will air on the Paramount Network with no breaks. So, all six episodes will be dropped on consecutive Sundays, with the finale airing on December 15 at 8 pm ET on the Paramount Network. Given that the viewers had to wait almost two years for Yellowstone season 5, episode 9, it makes sense why there are no breaks. While not having to wait a long time for all the episodes is exciting, it also means that the ending of Yellowstone will arrive faster. Fans should prepare to say goodbye in mid-December 2024.
