The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that what was supposed to be a three-month gig turned into a role that’s lasted over four decades.
Eric Braeden thankfully stuck around and continues to delight fans by playing the great Victor Newman.
Of course, Braeden always gets questions about his retirement.
No one’s in a hurry to see Braeden walk away, but the 83-year-old actor shared some health struggles in recent years and left fans wondering if he might leave the show.
In a new interview with TV Insider, Eric Braeden put any retirement talk to rest!
It’s clear that Braeden is feeling much better these days, so no exit plans are on the horizon as far as he’s concerned.
“I will not, I don’t want to,” Braeden said about retiring. “I feel very well. I really do.”
That’s great news for those of us who want to see Victor be part of the action for as long as possible.
Braeden shared some health updates as further proof that he has no intention of departing Y&R.
“The [bladder] cancer is under control and I will have another cystoscopy in about a month, and if that is negative, then I’ll be free for a while.
It’s never gone completely. You have to always watch, but signs are very good,” Braeden said.
Braeden also indicated that his new knee is completely repaired, so he’s able to do power squats and plenty of things to stay fit.
With Eric Braeden feeling so healthy and strong, it’s easy to see why he wants to keep heading into work and bringing Victor to life.
If this keeps up, we’ll hopefully see Victor on our screens for many more years to come!
Victor always has a few tricks up his sleeve – as evidenced by the restored Newman ranch surprise for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and the unexpected Chancellor deal he’s making with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton).
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will pull off even more shockers soon, so we’ll pass along more predictions on the bold moves ahead.
