She’s been at the center of several dramatic storylines, including her teenage pregnancy and past affairs. Recently, Sarah has been heartbroken after her daughter, Bethany (Lucy Fallon), was left with a permanent stoma bag following a botched surgery abroad.

In September, Bethany underwent liposuction in Turkey, which led to a perforated bowel and life-threatening sepsis. After a desperate situation with medical bills—where her grandmother, Gail (Helen Worth), had to take out a loan to sell her house—Bethany returned home with a stoma bag she will have for life.
