General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that many fans are still mourning over Sam
McCall (Kelly Monaco), who recently lost her life after donating part of her liver to save
Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins).
There’s a good chance Sam’s autopsy will indicate that sinister forces are in play, so the story that her demise kicked off is far from over.
However, Kelly Monaco has wrapped her run in Port Charles, SOD spoke to Dominic Zamprogna about losing his leading lady.
Zamprogna’s monologues in Sam’s room at GH were Monaco’s final scenes, so he said a heartfelt farewell to his co-star once those scenes were done.
As for Monaco’s portrayal in the weeks leading up to Sam’s sad outcome, Zamprogna had nothing but praise and repeatedly called her “amazing.”
Zamprogna also talked about becoming closer friends with Monaco once their characters were paired up and assured fans that their friendship wouldn’t end just because they’re not working together anymore.
In fact, Zamprogna still checks on Monaco weekly – and he isn’t ruling out the idea of working with her at some point in the future.
“It’s a soap,” Zamprogna insisted. “Who the heck knows what’s gonna happen?”
Anything is possible in Port Charles, so there’s certainly a chance that Monaco might make a comeback down the road.
Monaco could reprise the role of Sam through some shocking twist that brings her back from the grave.
Then again, playing a new character is always an option.
Whatever the case, it sounds like Dominic Zamprogna isn’t giving up on Kelly Monaco’s GH return, so we’ll bring you more predictions on Sam’s future and updates on any good news that might happen.
In the meantime, Zamprogna revealed some final advice he gave Monaco as she departed the show.
Although change can be scary, Dominic Zamprogna suggested that sometimes it can be the start of something wonderful.
“But I’ve found the greatest things in my life have come when it feels like a door is closing. And I was really trying to emphasize that to her,” Zamprogna said.
