Coronation Street‘s DC Kit Green gets an unexpected visit from Dee-Dee Bailey next week as the Joel Deering murder mystery continues.
The resolution to the case could land in Kit’s lap when Dee-Dee confesses to attacking Joel on the night that he died.
Corrie has been airing a tense ‘whodunnit’ plot after Joel’s body was found in a river last month.
A post-mortem showed that Joel was already dead when he hit the water, as he’d been attacked with a crowbar before his body was dumped.
This week’s episodes see Dee-Dee’s guilt overwhelm her as she confides in her father Ed about a big secret that she’s been keeping.
Dee-Dee declares that she is Joel’s killer, as they clashed after she found out that he was planning to do a runner from Weatherfield to escape justice for his crimes.
Desperate to ease her conscience, Dee-Dee vows to hand herself in to the police but Ed tries to persuade her otherwise.
In follow-on scenes next week, Dee-Dee sticks to her plan as she heads to the police station and confesses to hitting Joel with a crowbar.
Dee-Dee tells Kit that she was acting in self-defence and Joel was still alive when she left him, which naturally indicates that another party must have been involved after Dee-Dee left the scene.
Just as Kit must decide whether to arrest Dee-Dee, he’s confronted by another surprising piece of evidence. Will he focus his attention on Dee-Dee or is someone else now in the frame for Joel’s murder?
With more twists and turns in store, Corrie bosses have confirmed that the culprit will be revealed to viewers in a special flashback episode airing on Friday, November 15.
Meanwhile, Dee-Dee’s visit to the police station airs on Monday, November 11.
