Meri Brown confronted ex Kody Brown on the Oct. 20 episode of Sister Wives after officially “terminating” their spiritual marriage.
Meri Brown is done with her ex Kody Brown.
After the Sister Wives star filed to officially terminate her spiritual marriage to the former polygamist in 2022, she made it clear on the Oct. 20 episode of the family’s TLC series that she’s no longer putting up with
her ex’s antics.
“If you didn’t want to fail,” Meri said in her confessional interview of Kody, “maybe you shouldn’t have married the wrong person, one or two or three times.”
Kody was previously married to four different wives with Meri being the first. They split in 2022, not long after he and Janelle Brown, whom he spiritually wed in 1993, broke up and one year after Christine Brown left their spiritual marriage after 25 years. Now Kody’s only remaining relationship is with his wife Robyn Brown.
Despite years of estrangement, Kody explained on the episode that he had no intention of ending his marriage to Meri until she called it quits.
“I felt compelled to stick it out with Meri even though the relationship was terrible,” he said in a confessional interview. “I remember when Sonny [Bono] and Cher got divorced when I was six and it rattled me. I do not know why I’m still holding on a little bit because I know damn well that I don’t want to be in this relationship.”
Shockingly, Kody even admitted, “I know Christine did me a favor by being brave enough to leave.”
And when it comes to it, Kody and Meri have different interpretations of the history of their relationship and exactly how long they were struggling as a couple.

“This marriage was on the rocks the entire marriage,” Kody said of Meri, whom he tied the knot with in 1990, during a confessional. “I should have gotten out of the relationship 25 years ago.”
And while he said he was fine with “faking” a relationship with his first wife, Meri was not, telling her ex, “I would rather you have told me, Kody, years ago.”
And while Kody confirmed that he had no interest in working on his relationship with Meri—with whom he shares child Leon Brown—he seemed content to dig the knife in deeper when it came to his ex.

“You know what really sucks?” the father of 18 asked her. “It’s not divorce that sucks it’s marrying the wrong person because you don’t know.”
Meri looked stunned by her ex’s comment, later noting in a confessional, “What sucks is marrying the wrong person and not having the decency to tell her until 32 years later.”
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
