Kody Brown blamed his exes for his failure to love them while arguing with Meri Brown on the Oct. 20 episode of Sister Wives.
Sister Wives Sunday means it’s time for more Kody Brown-isms.
The former polygamist was on a roll during the Oct. 20 episode of the family’s TLC series, placing the blame on his wives and exes in an unusual way.
“Don’t blame me for not loving you. I was doing my duty,” he said in one confessional. “Blame yourself if I don’t love you, OK?”
And that’s not the only way in which Kody wants to point the finger at his exes.
“When I’m in love with a woman, that’s her fault,” he continued. “So what happens when I’m not in love with a woman? Is that just my fault? If I’m mad about a woman, want to serve her, passionate, want to rub her feet, want to carry in her groceries, if I want to buy her jewelry, if I want her to feel special all the time, if I’m in love with a woman, I think that’s her fault.”
Tensions grew during the episode when Kody visited his first wife Meri Brown to discuss her decision to file for an official marital termination from their church after 32 years of spiritual marriage. The former pair legally tied the knot in 1990 and divorced in 2014 so that Kody could legally marry Robyn Brown in an effort to adopt her children from a previous relationship.

And after years of estrangement between Kody and Meri, they finally called in quits in late 2022 after Christine Brown and Janelle Brown had already ended their marriages to Kody. However, Kody took offense to the church’s use of the term “abandonment” in regards to the end of his marriage to Meri.
As he put it, “I did say I could fake through it.”
But Meri laughed off this idea, noting, “Yeah, I’m not interested in faking a relationship.”
