General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kelly Monaco is nearing the end of her run as Sam McCall, so plenty of viewers are still riled up

about that. It’s a shame to be losing a beloved character and talented actress, but Monaco is earning praise for her strong exit arc performance

on social media.

Since Monaco was fired from the show and not given the respect she deserves, no one would blame her for coasting along without any real effort on her way out.

In the past, we’ve certainly seen fired actors phone it in and not give their best work.

However, that’s definitely not the case with Kelly Monaco, who’s been giving fans some powerful scenes and making this whole situation even more heartbreaking.

Monaco delivered some great stuff as she played Sam’s stunned reaction to the donor match news and ultimately gave Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) updates on being able to save Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins).

Of course, we also got those heartwarming family scenes where Sam explained the transplant situation to Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante), Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).

It was touching to watch Sam hug an appreciative Rocco and devastating to watch her reassure a worried Scout that she’d be fine.

Since we know Sam won’t be fine at all, Monaco is really tugging at our heartstrings with these soft and sweet moments.

Naturally, Monaco saved the fire for that scene when Sam lashed out at Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), which brought an excellent performance, too.

It’s clear that Monaco is committed to going out strong and entertaining fans despite the messy exit drama behind the scenes.

That’s led to lots of praise for Monaco on X, formerly known as Twitter, Facebook, message boards and more.

During the week of October 21-25, Monaco is sure to deliver even more gripping performances as Sam prepares to head into the OR.

Sam will spend some time with Scout and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) in her hospital room beforehand, so there’ll be a sense of impending doom considering what we all know is coming.

There’s no confirmation yet on whether Sam will pass away from surgery complications or something more sinister.

Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) has received buzz as a possible suspect for making Sam a fatal target post-transplant.

Regardless of how Sam takes her last breath, it’ll be hard to say goodbye.

Kelly Monaco has still been giving 100 percent to the role, so that’s commendable since many people feel GH did her dirty by cutting her loose!
