Audra is at the GCAC, reaching out to a former colleague at Glissade, fishing for rumors. The call ends with them hanging up on her.
CBS
She notices Jack and walks briskly toward him.
He’s not interested in having a conversation with her.
CBS
Once she gets him to sit, she tells him how bad she feels about what she and Tucker did.
She brings up Diane and is sorry to hear that he and his wife are in conflict.
CBS
She adds that Kyle is ungrateful and likely happy about their issues.
Jack asks her to skip to the point and assumes she’s out for payback.
CBS
She vents about his son getting her fired. Jack can’t help her with that. He’s barely on speaking terms with Kyle.
When she trashes his son, he thinks it’s ironic coming from her.
Audra informs him that Victor is the silent investor who has been pulling Kyle’s strings.
CBS
Jack already suspected all of this.
Telling him she knows all the inner workings of Glissade, she suggests they could make a deal. She could get the company and he could get his son.
CBS
Jack refuses to bargain for his son. She claims she would just be helping him back on the right path.
He says he will handle Kyle and Victor on his own. She points out she just violated her NDA and expects something in return.
Jack says that was her choice. She feels entitled to something. He suggests she walk away.
She’ll never beat Victor and likely will never run Glissade again.
CBS
“Watch me,” she grumbles as he walks off.
In Victor’s office, Adam tells his dad how well things are going at Newman Media.
CBS
Victor is sure that Nikki will eventually appreciate that. He has an assignment for his son.
He goes on about how much he admires his family loyalty and ruthlessness. He wants him to use Newman Media to make a buzz about the mess at Chancellor.
Victor jokes that Chance would rather put his life on the line than work with Billy.
Adam offers to put his mudslingers on it. They agree to focus all of this on Billy.
CBS
Victor wants it to look like Billy is out of control. Adam says that’s a piece of cake.
His dad adds that he wants him to use Newman Media to smooth over Audra’s exit from Glissade.
He assumes his dad doesn’t want the real story revealed.
Victor is sure she won’t violate the NDA.
CBS
Adam thinks there’s as much chaos at Glissade as at Abbott Chancellor.
Victor says Kyle is coming into his own. He just needed the right mentor.
They argue about his plans and Adam reminds him that he refused to come back if it meant hurting Jack and his family.
CBS
They argue about the Abbotts and Victor says that it doesn’t matter if Jabot is destroyed so Glissade can succeed.
Adam walks out.
CBS
He runs into Michael and suggests he wait before going into the office.
He asks him for details about Victor’s plan to go after Jack.
CBS
Michael claims he knows nothing. He’s spent months trying to get back in Victor’s good graces and still has a long way to go.
The lawyer is sure that Jack and Diane can deal with Victor. He has no idea what plan he has or if he has one.
Adam is sure that Victor has plans for Kyle. He knows that Victor playing father figure to anyone is a double-edged sword.
CBS
After he walks off, Michael goes in to see his boss.
Michael fills him in on his conversation with Adam. Victor doesn’t know why his son feels any loyalty to the likes of Jack.
When Michael mentions Jack has been publicly suffering, Victor guffaws.
CBS
The lawyer adds that Adam may be feeling exploited.
Victor says his son needs to execute his duties or he will fire his ass.
CBS
Phyllis sticks her head into Billy’s office and says that what Jill said about her was a little harsh.
CBS
He doesn’t want to get into this. She reminds him they are in this together.
Billy admits he hasn’t been telling his mom everything and Lily exploited that to make him look bad.
CBS
Phyllis thinks it’s crazy that his mom is taking Lily’s side.
He explains that his mom ordered him to undo his mistakes and those include hiring her.
Phyllis says Jill will have to suck it up. When he says nothing, she asks if he will really fire her.
CBS
Billy’s whole career is in jeopardy and he can’t worry about her. He might not like it but has no choice but to kick her to the curb.
She reminds him that she’s had his back as everyone’s been jumping ship.
He knows but his mom will rip the company away if he doesn’t fire her.
CBS
She points out it will make the company look bad. He doesn’t see a way around it.
He has to fire her but will not re-hire Lily. Phyllis suggests there is another option.
He starts pacing and doesn’t want to hear a “gameshow solution to real life problem.” She wants to pitch but he begs her to stop.
CBS
He can’t continue to fight for her while he can barely keep control of the company. Phyllis thinks he could just pretend to fire her and pay her later.
Billy doesn’t think his mom is dumb enough to fall for that. She begs and adds he needs to hire her son.
CBS
Apologizing, Billy says she has his sympathy and she can now focus on her son.
She threatens to bypass him and plead her case with Jill. He can’t see that working.
CBS
Phyllis threatens to talk to her woman to woman and make her love her.
She’s sure she can convince his mom that she’s an asset. He points out that letting her try that would be gambling his position.
Phyllis tells him he can let her win Jill over or by his mommy’s puppet dancing on a string.
CBS
At Daniel’s, Chance holds the bloody towels and asks Daniel if he has any idea where they came from. Daniel doesn’t.
CBS
The cop assumes that whoever stashed them was in a hurry. Daniel asks how the phone could have come back after the texts were sent from it.
This has him rattled and he wants to get into the phone. The detective tells him they need to do that at the station.
CBS
Chance makes him give him the passcode. It doesn’t work. “No dice,” says the cop.
Daniel says he and Heather shared all information on a file and requests a change of code.
They wonder if the phone was brought back since they haven’t heard a noise from it before.
CBS
Daniel changes the code and Chance opens the phone. The cop goes through her calendar and recipes.
Eventually, he finds an unsent text to Paul.
CBS
Daniel begs him to let him know what is in the text. Chance reads it. It says that she’s been fighting with Daniel, his anger issues are resurfacing and seem worse this time around.
CBS
This sounds insane to Daniel. The cop needs to take the phone to forensics.
Daniel says that Heather was everything to him. The detective doesn’t know what to think.
Daniel asks if he’s a suspect now.
CBS
The cop tells him the place will have to be thoroughly searched. Daniel yells about how much she meant to him.
Chance says the apartment is now a crime scene and he needs to leave.
