SHOCKING NEWS!! Strictly fans discover Chris McCausland’s forgotten EastEnders role

Strictly Come Dancing fans have remembered comedian Chris McCausland’s previous EastEnders role – after he made a cheeky jibe about the BBC soap to actor Jamie Borthwick this

weekend.

Chris, 47, is currently competing against the Jay Brown actor, 30 in the hit dancing show.

When host Claudia Winkleman asked Jamie how his family had responded to his Strictly success alongside professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas, he chirped: ‘They still can’t believe I’m

here really!’

‘It’s madness but they’re loving it.’

Chris then piped up, adding that it ‘must be nice’ for his relatives ‘to get to see you on the telly without having to watch EastEnders.’

The comment was met with much hilarity not only by the crowd, but also Jamie, who applauded his colleague for the quick-witted jest.

However, fans of both shows headed straight to social media to point out the fact that, despite his reservations against the soap, Chris actually made a guest appearance back in 2018!

The short but sweet scenes saw him play Karl, a man who played chess against Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) – and won after distracting her with tomato ketchup on his nose.

One fan posted screenshots of the episode, writing on X: ‘Chris McCausland in the background in EastEnders.’

Another commended his humour: ‘Chris McCausland is the gift that keeps giving.’

At the end of the evening, DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles became the latest celebrity to be eliminated.

He was left facing the dance off against former Coronation Street actor Shayne Ward and his dance partner Nancy Xu – but judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke won the majority vote following the dance-off.
