Anna has got to be the biggest hypocrite on any soap opera that I have ever seen! Here she is trying to intimidate Carly into giving up Sonny when not too long ago she protected her criminal boyfriend from the law!

In the world of soap operas, characters are often complex, walking a fine line between heroism and moral ambiguity. But Anna Devane, a fan-

favorite character on General Hospital, has recently crossed into hypocritical territory, frustrating many viewers. In a recent episode, Anna

attempted to pressure Carly into turning against Sonny, calling out his criminal ties. However, her actions left fans shaking their heads, given

her own history of protecting her criminal boyfriend, Valentin Cassadine, from the law. The hypocrisy is hard to ignore.

Let’s break this down. Not too long ago, Anna was doing everything in her power to keep Valentin safe, despite his dangerous and often illegal dealings. She bent the rules for love, choosing to stand by a man who, in many ways, operates in the same shady world as Sonny. Yet here she is, judging Carly for her loyalty to Sonny? The double standard is glaring.

The scene became even more frustrating when Anna had the audacity to tell Carly that Brennan is a dangerous man, warning her to stay away from him. While that might be true, it’s a classic case of “pot calling the kettle black.” Anna’s relationship with Valentin is no different. In fact, if anyone could relate to being involved with a dangerous man, it’s Anna herself. How can she sit there and criticize Carly when her own choices mirror the very things she’s condemning?

It’s this lack of self-awareness that makes Anna’s words feel so hollow. The writers missed a golden opportunity to have a more credible character, like Robert, deliver these lines. Robert, who has a long history of fighting for justice, could have approached Carly from a place of concern and integrity. Instead, Anna’s involvement just amplifies her hypocrisy, making her lecture on staying away from dangerous men feel incredibly ironic.

As much as fans love Anna Devane for her strong, fearless personality, moments like these do her character no favors. If the writers are trying to build tension between Carly and Anna, they’ve succeeded, but at the cost of making Anna look like a hypocrite.

It’s moments like these that make us question whether the writers fully understand how these actions will be perceived by loyal fans. Instead of intensifying the drama, Anna’s hypocrisy only serves to weaken her credibility in the eyes of viewers. If there’s one thing that needs to change in General Hospital, it’s giving Anna more consistent, morally sound storylines. Until then, her words are just another example of misplaced judgment, leaving fans feeling more frustrated than entertained.
