Liam, still longing to restore their family, devises a manipulative plan to break Hope and Carter apart. He fabricates a story that Beth has been diagnosed with leukemia, a devastating disease, hoping this will pull Hope away from Carter and back into his arms. Liam calls Hope, pretending to be distraught, telling her that Beth is in the hospital in critical condition. Panicked and overcome with worry, Hope rushes to the hospital to be with her daughter.

When Hope arrives, she finds Beth looking weak and fragile, lying in bed. What she doesn’t know is that Liam has staged the entire scenario. He even gave Beth sleeping pills to make her appear more ill, making the situation seem dire. Liam’s ultimate goal is to manipulate Hope’s emotions and convince her that they need to be together for Beth’s sake. He even offers to donate bone marrow to “save” their daughter, further tightening the emotional grip on Hope.

Meanwhile, Carter is unaware of Liam’s scheme and believes his relationship with Hope is genuine and growing stronger. However, Liam’s ruthless plot threatens to tear them apart. As Hope becomes more involved in her daughter’s supposed illness, Liam hopes to drive a wedge between her and Carter.
