SHOCKING NEWS!! Our thoughts and prayers with Natalie Cassidy Share Heartbreaking News: ‘It’s been difficult time for her’

EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has shared an update to fans concerning an injury sustained by her 7 year old daughter.

Natalie, 41, has played Sonia Fowler in the BBC One soap intermittently since 1993 and is mum to daughters Eliza and Joanie, who she shares with her fiancée Marc Humphreys.

In recent weeks, the character has contemplated selling her house to fund IVF treatment amid boyfriend Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) own money woes.

He was having to pay for the private care of his comatose wife Debbie, and upon learning that his beloved Sonia was now expecting, he smothered Debs with a pillow in a bid to move forward with his new life.

It seems Natalie’s off-screen life has been equally as dramatic, as she rushed Joanie to hospital after hearing a ‘loud click’ whilst she did a cartwheel at a playground.

Doctors later informed her that the youngster had broken her arm.

Despite the medical attention, that hasn’t stopped the family from enjoying a trip to Greece.

On Instagram, Nat shared a sweet pic of her clan, adding: ‘We made it on our holdiay. Greece has been beautiful, a full week of only worrying about what we are eating, getting the good sunbeds and what ice creams we are eating next.’

‘Apart from the old skin allergy always showing itself when abroad it’s been a corker’ she continued.

‘Listen to my podcast Life With Nat out today to hear more. The waterproof cover for Joanie’s arm has been a life saver, thank you for all your lovely messages. Always look forward to coming home and seeing family and getting into my own bed though.’

She also added a number of hashtags, including ‘#brokenbones’, ‘#didntseethatcoming’ and ‘#lovelyjubbly’.

On her BBC Sounds podcast she elaborated on Joanie’s unfortunate incident: ‘They had to put two plates in [her] arm to hold the bones together because Joanie had broken two bones, so she’s got two little plates in her arm.’

‘They’ve had to make some incisions, little cuts…because her bones were too small, couldn’t get the wires through and we weren’t really sure if we were going to be going on holiday’ Natalie added.

‘The big news is we’re going on holiday.’

In May she admitted that Joanie ‘fast forwards her bits’ in EastEnders, and branded the trumpet-playing icon as ‘boring’.
