Sean has been cropping up very frequently in recent Coronation Street episodes, much to the annoyance of ITV viewers.
One of his recent scenes involved him stirring up drama for his mate Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Sean was the first to spread the news that Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) had split up.
During Monday’s episode, he didn’t waste any time in letting Daniel know what had happened. And of course, Daniel raced off to be there for Daisy.

This resulted in a big revelation as Daisy then professed her love to her ex, only for him to rebuff her, admitting he’s happy in his relationship with Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
Even in small doses, soap fans have had enough of Sean.
Viewers were quick to criticise him for pointlessly stirring drama this week.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one ITV fan raged: “That would be Sean. The big gob. Who is completely pointless.”
Meanwhile, other viewers went so far as to call for him to be axed from the soap.
“Why is Sean even on this show?? He’s been a spare part pain in the ar*e for over a decade. There’s no way anyone would want to have a relationship with him, so get rid,” one complained.

“Too much Sean for my liking, any Sean is too much for my liking,” moaned another.
While a third asked: “Why are we having so much Sean? Are we being punished for taking the piss?”
Adding to the long-standing criticism of the Corrie character, a fourth wrote: “Sean couldn’t be more annoying if he tried.”
“I hate Sean’s smug face. He looks even smugger than usual. And that’s a laugh saying Mason gets away with everything when Sean does. And if he says ‘Appen’ one more time…” a fifth piled on.
Forgotten soap storylines
The nation’s soaps have had many gripping storylines play out over the years. However, some plots proved to be far less memorable. Here are some forgotten stories from Weatherfield, Walford and more…
“Can’t stand him,” added another.
Sean has been a regular fixture on the cobbles for two decades, ever since he arrived looking for lodging in 2004.
Over the years, he’s been embroiled in a number of notable storylines, including a period of homelessness, and his battle to be in his son Dylan’s life.

Sean has had little luck with relationships either, as he tends to wear his heart on his sleeve, resulting in some major heartbreaks.
The two main loves of his life, sonographer Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) and vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), left him for Maria Connor (Sam Longchambon) and Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley), respectively.
