Joel Deering (Calum Lill) may finally be set to get his comeuppance as Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) seemingly uncovers new
evidence in new Coronation Street pictures.
Evil Joel was responsible for grooming and attacking Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) earlier this year, and DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) has been
determined to pin him to the crime ever since.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of evidence, Joel has so far been getting away with his actions, which also saw him drug Lauren in an attempt to kill their unborn baby.
This hasn’t prevented Lisa from teaming up with Dee-Dee in a bid to find some way of bringing Joel down, despite the CPS closing his case.
In recent scenes, Dee-Dee managed to get hold of Joel’s old work phone, and after some tests Lisa revealed that they had found some texts to another young woman called Ellie.
Viewers will know that Ellie was being groomed by Joel too, and had previously lied to Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) about Nathan Curtis’ (Chris Harper) involvement in Lauren’s disappearance.
As well as this lead, Dee-Dee and Lisa are also set to try and trace the package containing the drugs Joel gave Lauren to induce early labour, hoping that this may be another way of bringing him down.
However, it seems that these aren’t the only leads they’re set to follow.
In new pictures, Dee-Dee can be seen outside the ruins of an old building uncovering an abandoned car.
Could this have something to do with Joel? Has he hidden the car deliberately knowing it could lead to his demise?
