EastEnders‘ Balvinder Sopal has explained why her character Suki Panesar has kept the truth

about Keanu Taylor’s Christmas murder from her partner Eve Unwin.

Sopal attended the National Television Awards (NTAs) tonight (September 11) with the rest of

the EastEnders cast. Speaking  on the red carpet, the soap star said she thinks Suki should tell Eve.

While other characters close to The Six have found out Keanu was killed by Linda Carter in an attempt to defend Sharon Watts, Suki has remained tight-lipped around Eve.

“You’ll have to watch this space, as they say!” Sopal said.

“Something like The Six is a big story, isn’t it? There’s always a chance that something else might happen. I think that the avenues and the ways the story can blow up are massive. So who knows?”

She continued: “I think she should tell Eve the truth! We are in Soapland, so who knows? There’s a whole host of ways that Eve could find out. But what happens if she doesn’t find out?”

Sopal thinks there may be a romantic explanation behind Suki’s silence, hypothesising that her character is keeping the secret because she has Eve’s best interests at heart.

“Other characters close to The Six know, so why shouldn’t Eve know? But maybe Eve shouldn’t know because Suki is trying to protect Eve all the time,” she said.

“Eve definitely wouldn’t blab, but she’d be implicated, wouldn’t she? She’d be involved in some way, and it’s another person that we can’t afford to have knowing the truth! But who knows? Keep watching, as they say…”
