EastEnders has aired a surprise cameo from Lola Pearce-Brown for Janet Mitchell’s birthday.
While the major storyline in Wednesday’s (September 11) episode revolved around Sharon and Chrissie
Watss’ prison showdown, there was a sweet moment back on the Square as well.
The Mitchells had gathered in the Vic to celebrate Janet’s 18th birthday, where Gina Knight watched a video recorded for Janet by the late Lola.
Viewers saw another special cameo from former cast member Danielle Harold, as Lola told Janet: “I just wanted to stop by and wish you a massive happy birthday on your 18th birthday! Wow!
“I bet mum and dad have spoiled you rotten. They love you and they’re so proud of you. Happy birthday, darling!”
The sweet video closed with Lola blowing Janet a big kiss. Janet told Billy Mitchell and Gina that this message from Lola was “the best present ever”.
Harold has made a few cameos since her exit last year. The soap had previously shown Lola recording video messages to be played at family milestones after her death from cancer.
One such cameo saw Lola delivering encouragement to daughter Lexi Pearce-Brown on her first day of school last autumn.
Harold won a National Television Award in 2023 for the heartbreaking storyline where Lola succumbed to advanced brain cancer.
As she accepted the achievement, the actor broke down in tears while telling NTAs viewers: “Without your support, I couldn’t do this. I can’t believe it!”
