Coronation Street is set to air a shocking new storyline for Bethany Platt, who will be left fighting for her
life after getting sepsis.
It was confirmed last month that Bethany will soon become increasingly insecure about her appearance
and make the decision to get cosmetic surgery abroad, which doesn’t go to plan.
We now know that the dodgy surgery will lead to a life-threatening infection that will leave Bethany fighting for her life in hospital.
While it hasn’t yet been confirmed when the storyline will kick off, Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany, recently revealed that her character would take centre stage in a “dramatic” storyline later this year.
“Bethany has actually got quite a big storyline coming up within the next few weeks, few months,” she told Digital Spy last month.
“It’s going to be quite dramatic, quite emotional, which she should be used to right now!
“It’s a good one for me to get my teeth into but it’s going to be quite an emotional one for Bethany, playing into her insecurities. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.”
Fallon also recently confirmed her future on the ITV soap after announcing that she’s expecting her second child with partner Ryan Ledson.
In response to fans questioning what this means for Bethany and how long she’ll have to leave the cobbles for, Fallon wrote on her Instagram Stories: “Lots of Corrie related q’s – I won’t be away for toooo long and I am returning after I pop the baby out.”
