His celebrity friends shared their congratulations, with Cassie Plummer actor Claire Sweeney saying she can’t wait to read it with her son Jaxon.
Irish TV presenter Lucy Kennedy shared “Nice one”, while Anthony Partridge joked: “Can you make the words really big and easy so I can read it please.”
Former Shameless star and fellow Corrie actor Sally Carman said the book looked “gorgeous”, and Angela Lonsdale, who is married to EastEnders star Perry Fenwick, said the book will be “amazing” and she is “proud” of Simon.
In Corrie, his character Steve McDonald has faced heartache this year as his estranged wife Tracy McDonald left him for his sports idol, Tommy Orpington.
After their affair was discovered and exposed by Tim Metcalfe, Tracy left Steve to pursue a relationship with Tommy, moving to Spain with the former footballer before returning to the cobbles.
She immediately clashed with Cassie, who is currently working for Ken as a carer following the nasty accident he suffered at home.
Cassie has started to develop feelings for Steve, leading Tracy to accuse her of only caring for Ken to get closer to her ex-husband. She has denied the accusation, but is she telling the truth?
