STEVE McDonald is left devastated by news about his ex Tracy Barlow in Coronation Street.
The couple split up earlier this year after Tracy (Kate Ford) had an affair with former footballer-turned
decorator, Tommy Orpington.

While Steve (Simon Gregson) was hurt but willing to forgive her, Tracy called time on their marriage after admitting she was bored and wasn’t in love with him any more.
She then decided to leave Weatherfield to join Tommy in Spain where he had secured a football coaching job.
Steve has attempted to move on and joined a dating app, and while he’s had some success, it hasn’t culminated in anything long term.
And it seems he is still holding a candle for his ex, as in upcoming Coronation Street scenes, he is left secretly gutted when daughter Amy reveals that Tracy’ hascancelled her visit and she’s staying in Spain.

Her change of mind means his plans to win her back have gone up in smoke.
Meanwhile, Tim puts pressure on Steve to agree to a night out to celebrate his 50th.
But then wife Sally shows Tim an invitation to the unveiling of Tommy O’s bronze bust at the County ground.
Tim’s gutted to realise it clashes with Steve’s big birthday.
When Tim tells Steve he can no longer go on the night out with him Steve assumes a surprise party is being planned.
Later, Sally calls at the cab office and tells Tim she’s off into town to buy a new outfit for tomorrow.

In the Rovers, Steve quizzes Cassie, Kevin and Tyrone about his surprise party.
They deny all knowledge and Steve smiles to himself, convinced they’re bluffing.
How is he going to react when he realises there is no surprise?
