Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney has called for Leanne Batterbsy to be the one to bring down Rowan
Cunliffe.
Leanne has been enraptured by the The Institute, and has invested plenty of time and money into the
cult. She’s recently introduced Amy to it, and she’s initially on board, although next week will see Aadi
Alahan point out a few red flags.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Mulvaney was asked if she’d like her character to be the one to take Rowan down, and she said she’s not so sure, as she thinks Leanne deserves her revenge for being played.

“I’m in two minds about that,” she admitted. “Part of me thinks, yeah, have Amy do it. But then I’d love to see Leanne get her own back — I’d love to see her go full Battersby and have Rowan for it!”
Speaking about the direction of the storyline more generally, Mulvaney said that: “The pressure really mounts on Amy to invest in The Institute, but we also start to see some more of that weirdness coming out.
“Viewers will see more of what goes on behind the scenes…”

The actor also spoke on the current ‘will they, won’t they’ situation between Amy and Aadi at the moment, and hoped that they would properly get together soon, citing how it would affect other characters.
“I like the dynamic it creates between Amy and Asha,” she said, “because obviously it’s Asha’s brother Amy is interested in. Plus we’d all love to see more of Steve and Dev together if their kids started dating, wouldn’t we? I’m definitely rooting for that!”
